Digital Site Licenses (DSL) + Public Performance Rights License (PPR)  Universities/Colleges

  • D-Facto Filmstudio grants to the Licensee a limited, non-exclusive license for educational use only.

  • Digital site licenses (DSL) include a Public Performance Rights License (PPR).

  • DSLs must be hosted on a single, password-protected institutional server.

  • DSLs are licensed for the life of the format.

  • DSLs will be delivered digitally.

  • When you place your order, you will receive a link with a password to download the file.

DVD + Public Performance Rights License (PPR) - Universities/Colleges

  • D-Facto Filmstudio grants to the Licensee a limited, non-exclusive license for educational use only.

  • DVDs include a Public Performance Rights License (PPR).

  • This license is for colleges and universities who want to own a copy of the title for their library, classroom, or office. Academic institutions must buy the Academic DVD with PPR and may not screen DVDs bought with other licenses.

  • The film may be used by students, staff, and faculty in classrooms or for private viewing by patrons.

  • The film may be publicly screened for groups of 100 or fewer individuals where admission is not charged.

  • Please contact us if you plan to screen the film to an audience larger than 100 or charge admission..

  • Please contact us if you’d like to host a screening for more than 100 people.

  • Please contact us for more information or to schedule an appearance by the filmmaker.

DVD + Public Performance Rights License (PPR) for Community Groups and K-12

  • DVDs include a Public Performance Rights License (PPR) for community and classroom screenings.

  • A Public Performance Rights License is necessary for any public showing of a film in a community venue such as a theater, synagogue, church, mosque, community center, K-12 institution, or any venue open to members of the public.

  • By purchasing a PPR, you are able to screen the film to an audience at no charge, for a suggested donation, or for an admission fee.

  • The film may be used by patrons, members, students, staff and faculty in classrooms or for private viewing.

  • A discount may be available for organizations with limited budgets. Please contact us with more information about your organization and your proposed screening.

  • Please contact us to schedule an appearance by the filmmaker.

DVD + Public Libraries License (without PPR)

  • THIS LICENSE MAY NOT BE PURCHASED BY ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS OR COMMUNITY AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

  • Public libraries can purchase an educational license without Public Performance Rights (PPR) for a significantly discounted price.

  • The purpose of this license is strictly for lending to public library patrons for home-use viewing. No public screenings are permitted. Public performances of a video in a public room (including library meeting rooms), whether or not a fee is charged, are an infringement of copyright. Such performances require a public performance license from the rights holder. Please contact us if you would like to host a public screening.

  • Libraries should not knowingly loan a video to groups for use in public performances. If a patron inquires about a planned performance of a video, he or she should be informed that only private uses of it are lawful.

  • If libraries are aware that library patrons are checking out videos or DVDs in order to copy them, the patron should be advised that the use is not lawful.
